Taijutsu classes [16+ years]

A technical class focusing on the core strategies and unarmed techniques from the Bujinkan Manitoba curriculum. Traditional body management skills, striking techniques, joint manipulations, throws, chokes and holds will be developed through waza and kata practice. Increase your palette of skills and refine your technique.

Gear Requirements for this class are:

Traditional Weapons: Bikenjutsu [16+ years]

These classes focus on the Bikenjutsu sword skills of the Bujinkan; tachi [long sword], kodachi [short sword], and shinobi-gatana [ninja sword]. New students will focus on the fundamentals of the sword: grip; posture and footwork; drawing and returning; appropriate angles and trajectory while cutting; distance and timing; and awareness and intent. Experienced students will refine the fundamentals and explore the subtle nuances and precision of the Japanese sword through traditional training patterns [Koshiki-kata].

These classes focus on the Bojutsu staff/stick skills of the Bujinkan; Rokushakubo [six foot staff], Yonshakubo/Jo [four foot stick], and Sanshakubo/Hanbo [three foot staff]. New students will focus on the fundamentals: grip; posture and footwork; appropriate angles, distance, position and timing for striking and grappling; and awareness and intent. Experienced students will refine the fundamentals and explore the subtle nuances and precision of these weapons through traditional training patterns [Koshiki-kata].
